As a member of the Eco-Village Alliance Hedonisia Hawaii has joined in the effort to change Hawaii Zoning Regulations to allow for eco-friendly farms and communities. At present the County of Hawaii strictly controls the farming communities of East Hawaii and does not allow many eco-friendly communal farming models or practices that are eco-friendly. We look to the examples of forward thinking states such as Oregon and New Mexico where the Governor established legall provision to allow for Sustainable Building Testing Sites or Eco-Villages.
